Psychotherapy

Online or in-person, psychotherapy is for individuals to speak about past history, present issues, and future goals. After a free consultation, clients will meet with Laura for an initial evaluation (75-90 min). At this time, Laura will assess your needs, and make appropriate recommendations for your care. .

Clinical Supervision

Group and individual supervision sessions are held weekly for Licensed Social Workers in New Jersey. Individuals seeking supervision must comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the NJ State Board of Social Work Examiners.

If you are an agency looking for an off-site supervisor for social work interns, or an institution looking for field supervision, please contact me for availability, information, and rates.

“I am not as hard on myself as I used to be, and that’s amazing considering how I felt a year ago.”

Insurance Coverage

“No Surprises Act” (2022) Disclosure

Individuals who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the bill for services under the “No Surprises Act” that went into effect January 2022. This includes an estimate for the total expected cost for sessions up to 12 months. This estimate can be requested before scheduling your initial session and will be provided in writing by this provider within 24 hours of the intake session. Should your costs exceed $400 of this estimate, you are entitled to dispute your bill for services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Do I have out-of-network benefits?

You can find information about your out-of-network benefits by contacting your insurance company. The member services phone number is usually located on the back of your insurance card. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits and others do not.

If you do not have out-of-network coverage, you may choose to self-pay for therapy, or request a sliding scale rate. While Laura does designate a percentage of her practice to pro bono and sliding scale clients, availability is limited and often there is a waiting list.

What is my out-of-network deductible?

If your plan does provide out-of-network benefits, you will want to ask about your deductible. A deductible is the amount that your insurance company requires you to pay prior to reimbursing for care. Most plans have a deductible.

What percentage will my insurance company cover after the deductible has been met?

After your out-of-network deductible has been met, your insurance company will cover a percentage of your care. You will want to ask what percentage will be covered, as this will clarify your out-of-pocket costs per session.

“I had no idea where to start with insurance forms, but Laura filled out all the paperwork with me.”
